Question by Punch: R&P: what is your favorite “music” therapy?
A new music therapy room at a hospital on Florida’s Gulf Coast is being named for AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson.
Music equipment and enhancements to the room at Sarasota Memorial Hospital are being donated by the John Entwhistle Foundation, named for the late bassist for the Who.
How inspiring and it certainly inspired this question…

Question by Now Let Them Tremble: Rock and Pop: Music as Therapy?
Do any of you guys here in R&P use music as “therapy”?
As in, when you’re in a bad mood, like sad, you listen to sad songs to relate to them, then you listen to a Happy song to cheer up, etc.
I do that, and it always works.
BQ: Will y’all re-add me to your contacts? I got fricking suspended for nothing. Stupid arseholes.

Question by Geyamala: Do modern psychologists think “Music therapy” has therapeutic value in treating psychological problems?
Best answer:
Answer by trueprober Hello Geyamala, actually musical vibrations have its own effect no doubt about it. But people who is well versed in his career and who has good intuition may come to know about it and may apply the same as one of the remedial techniques. If not so then they simply ignore and always depend only on the sleeping pills and soothing process.
Question by Knulp: Are there any charities, humanitarian organisations or similar groups with a particular focus on music?
For example, by bringing free volunteer-based music education (or musical events) to children in developing countries, street children, sick children… basically by providing musical education and experiences to children and even adults who might be disadvantaged by whatever circumstances? Is this an absurd and impractical idea of no use whatsoever, or are there any non-profit organisations out their with a musical or “music aid/therapy” focus? Please forgive me if this is a highly stupid question or if it is in the wrong section.
Best answer:
Answer by Meranda F save the music is one I believe.
